I Don't Know Why You Say Good-bye, I Say Hello.

Here are the pictures from of those cute people who came to support me as I closed a major chapter in my life last Friday at Inauguration for next year's Student Government team.
Doing our signature "We Believe" cheer for the last time.
My roommates: Katie & Jacee
My other half on council: Aubrie Tilley, Clubs & Organizations VP
& my cute Mom was so nice to follow me around & take more than
50 shots of me & my besties.
Alex, Aubrie, & Hayden
Tyler: Executive Assistant
The greatest leader I know Mr. Student Body President himself, Tucker Smith
Cute Erika, Student Advocate
Two of my favorite people on this earth: Aub & Jord Tilley (Academics VP)
Miss Whitney Dawe, Service VP
2010-2011 SBO Team
Isn't my family the nicest for driving all the way down here?!
Paige, Caitlyn & Kendall. I LOVE THESE GIRLS!!
They have been on my committee this year, & the SBO's next year
are so lucky to have them!
Instant BFF's--just as I had hoped.
The woman who makes all the magic happen, Lindsey Field (Director of Student Life)
coincidence that My Dad & I are matching?
I think not!
The evening was a smashing success & I was surrounded by those I love most! I am so grateful for the opportunities I have had while being on student government-- They have been life changing. As part of the evening a slideshow of the past year was shown, & yes I cried. Which never happens. But they were tears of gratitude. Tears for all that I have learned & tears for the wonderful people who have blessed my life.
Luckily, even though we had this big ceremony, the year isn't over yet. Now both the old & new teams get to finish out the year together!
I commit to finish out this year strong & to complete all my responsibilities as the 2010-2011 Publicity VP.

Commemoration & Inauguration.

One year ago, I was sworn into office.
March 2010
& tonight I will pass along my sash to the next Publicity VP.
I will still have duties until graduation on April 30th, but it is shocking to me how fast time has flown.

Over the Hill

Yesterday I walked out to my car, only to find this:
I laughed for a good 12 seconds by myself before continuing on my way.
All day long I kept getting honked at. I didn't think I was doing that bad at driving. But then I remembered, oh yes, I just turned 40--Honk away!
I sent out a mass picture message to at least 15 people trying to figure out who the comical culprit was.
No one would fess up.
So now I am just left mystified wondering who I have to thank for a hearty morning laugh.

Spring Break 2011

Spring Break 2011 was a relaxing yet adventurous one.
Every morning I would wake up at 5:45 work out & work out with Mom, go back to bed for 2 hours & then do whatever I wanted for the rest of the day.
Lots of my break consisted of tormenting Kimball & Klayton by making them be apart of activities they wouldn't normally participate in.
We explored this creepy shack & the surrounding area,
at first they hated it, but I think they eventually caught the vision & enjoyed themselves.
One day I met Mom at Costa for lunch,
every bite of the pork salad is different, but just as delicious as the one before.
Wouldn't you agree?
Kimball decided it was high time to try out his new gun,
so we went out past Utah Lake to shoot.
I was freaking out. Apparently guns do that to me.
I started sweating & even my right eye was watering.
But all in all it was fun. Kimball was right.
That night we had Kenzie meet us to go scootering down Provo Canyon.
After a highly successful run down the canyon trail,
we went & watched Kenzie's open Noteworthy rehearsal.
(& took a few inconspicuous photos of her...)
Another day I helped Klayton white wash his fence,
& then the final Saturday of the break arrived.
Which was date night.
Klayton pulled out all the stops by first taking me to Park City to get dinner.
We ordered a pizza, & then they forgot about us.
So we had to get it to go in order to make it to Salt Lake for the play.
We made it with mere seconds to spare.
We saw A Tale of Two Cities at the Hale & it was so good!
Oh what is this you see?
Well I did in fact see the play via wheelchair due to the fact that all other seating was sold out.
So very funny.
Especially when a standing ovation took place & Klayton kept telling me that surely I had strength enough to stand for such great performances.
Spring Break was honestly so fun. I loved the time I spent with my family & friends. It was such a nice break from regular life to just be carefree for a few days.
If I've said it once, I've said it 1,000 times, I have the best family & friends in the world.

A Night in Paris: If We Ever Meet Again

Last year, I simply attended the dance,
this year the tables turned & I was voted by the rest of council to be in charge of 2011's Spring Ball.
When I discovered what my fate was going to be, I made some smart alack comment about me already paying my dues this year. No one really seemed to see why that should even affect what I am doing now, so  I smacked a smile on my face & exclaimed that I would in fact enjoy (??) being in charge of the night that is quite the tradition here at the college.
Our theme was A Night in Paris: If We Ever Meet Again
I spent 6 hours one Saturday painting giant plywoods for some publicity:
Set up for Spring Ball took 8 hours,

 & it was quite elaborate.
From the outdoor cafe (pictured above),
to the 24 foot Eiffel Tower replica,
to painted lit up murals representing France,
trying to fill up the Blue Gym in the Activity Center for Spring Ball was no small feat.
But after 8 long hours, we finished set up & I was pleased with how things were looking.
Saturday came, & I was showering that morning all sorts of scenarios were going through my head.
What if we spent all this time & money only to have nobody showed up?
Or what if the generator went out & therefore we wouldn't have all of the lights working?
What if it started snowing & there would be no carriage rides?
(side note: Thank You to Mckenzie for unknowingly letting me borrow her dress)
But there was no need to fret because it turned out just wonderfully.
Everyone seemed to be having a good time,
(Even these 2 crazy cats pictured below)
To everyone's surprise I took the responsibility of taking the microphone from the DJ & announcing Tucker Smith & Jennifer Russell King & Queen of the ball,
All in all it was a wildly successful event. From the elaborate decor, to the food, photo booths, carriage rides, DJ & dancing I think everyone had a good time.
Thanks to everyone especially those on council & my committee who helped make it such a success!
I couldn't have done it without you.
