Sister Love

I got a cute letter from my 6 year old sister today.
nothing like a little love from home.
The dog Rachel is referring to is this little guy.
Yes, Rachel.
I love & cherish him & think of you every time I look at him.
I love you the most-est Rachie.

Schubert is a Home Wrecker.

I don't know if you remember or not, but I hate singing Schubert's Mass in G. (to listen to a snippet of The Mass which is entitled Kyrie, go here. If you can't stay awake don't hurt yourself, you aren't missing anything.) Well Dr. Meredith informed us yesterday that we will be making a recording, therefore we have to (get to) sing it again tonight.
However, once we finish Schub, the Easter Egg hunt begins tonight at 11. It is going to be awesome. 10,000 eggs filled with candy, money and gift certificates. Yes please.

good day.

Why today is a good day:
1. My dresser has been de-cluttered & re-organized.
2. It is warm outside! Winter has stayed much too long.
3. 3 of my 4 classes got out early
(Pat Mer, if only you would have followed suit..)
4.  I successfully registered for fall 2010 classes at 7 am.
5. My Vans are finally worn in.
6. I opened some mail that I shouldn't have.
(Student life, your secret is safe with me.)
7. I sent some mail that I have procrastinated much too long.
8. I don't have a math test this week!!
9. Homi-dawgy-slicey will be leaving tonight, hopefully.
10. I "get" to finish up my sexual education essay.

Go home, 'Home' slice.

And what would a peaceful weekend be without dear Homi(a.k.a. Robert) to grace us with his presence. There is nothing I love more than when I wake up & see him in my kitchen or hear him talking to Corie in her bedroom.

I must say, I love the endearing & charming choice of having his pet name on his license plate.
Life is good in A8 when Homi comes to visit.

Dear Dad,

Happy Birthday DAD!!
I have the best Dad ever.
He is the most patient person I know.
How many kids can say they were lucky enough to have their Dad's be there teacher, and still be friends?
Oh how I miss seeing him everyday.
I even miss him getting mad at me.
My Dad has taught me so many things.
1. He has taught me that while there is a time to laugh, there is also a time to be serious.
2. He has taught me that hard work makes up for lack of ability.
3. I mean come on, the man taught me Calculus!
4. He has taught me to care about the needs of others before my own.
5. He teaches me that complaining about something gets you nowhere. Actions get you places.
6. He teaches me the value & importance of patience.
7. He teaches me selflessness.
8. He has taught me to love the gospel.
I love you so much Dad. You are the best. I hope you have an awesome day. Thank you so much for bringing the whole fam-fam down yesterday to support me. I don't know what I would do without you guys.
In short- HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD!! I LOVE YOU.

Inauguration Time

It's Tonight!!
My awesome parents are coming down to support me.
I am praying I won't mess up or mix up words while saying the oath.
I would probably turn bright red like a fool.
And then I would laugh mercilessly.
That would be a disaster waiting to happen.
p.s. I have had enough of this weather. just saying.

Satisfied Ewe?

Happy Birthday Heather Farr!!
I hope you have a fabulous day. You're the best!! You are my long lost twin. I am so glad that we are friends.
This morning was a doozie. I had to wake up at 5:30. It was miserable. I cannot even remember the last time I was up at such a forsaken hour. I had not slept at my own apt. So, I had to rush home & get ready to make it in time to a little council welcome breakfast. We ate at a little cafe called The Satisfied Ewe. It is the BROTHER to POFOLKS. I'm not kidding. The menu, classy name, & even the atmosphere. Spiting image of my favorite Cali-forn-i-a restaurant. Anyone else miss Pofolks? While going to The Satisfied Ewe did calm my craving for Pofolks, I can't help but wish I could go to the mother of all fine dining. Lets go people. Pofolks. Now. ready. set. go.

12:59 PM

Two great things happened today.
#1. It is interesting that I posted about Clarissa's lack of hygiene a few days ago. Three cheers for her because I witnessed her brushing her teeth for the first time this whole year. Bravo!
#2. I got a phone call from the Student Body VP at Snow College at 12:59 PM. I will be the 2010-2011 Vice President over Publicity at Snow!!!!!!! (I interviewed for it in front of a panel of 6 judges a few days before Spring Break) I can hardly believe it. Over tons of applicants, I was their first choice. Not only will I get to be in charge of all publicity on campus, I receive an 800 dollar scholarship each semester.  I feel so lucky.
Life is good.

Let's Hear it for the Oddballs.

Ever been in a place, a class, a room & you could bet you were the only NORMAL one? Welcome to my Math 1050 class. I truly believe that my class is a social experiment put on by the counselors of Snow College. I have never seen so many misfits in one room. What that says about me, I do not know.

1. You have the Asians that sit & mumble & mutter amongst themselves (it sounds like gibberish to me) in the back corner.
2. Kat. She's the best. Rain or shine she comes with a beanie & sunglasses ready to shield her precious eyes and porcelain skin from the son.  (see the picture to the right in case you have forgotten what she looks like.)
3. Our professor. Bless him. He means well. Really he does. But we never learn anything at all in class & then he wonders why he has to answer 40 minutes of questions everyday.
4. Lilian. Oh she just wants to be accepted and loved by Kat. I feel almost sorry for her. I know something about Lilian that Kat doesn't know, however. She is GloZell's child out of wedlock. Seriously. She recently dyed her hair, & I am certain that it was via Kool-Aid.
5. Meet my new friend Chelsea. She dyes (or so she says) a strip of her black hair grey. Interesting. I don't know if you heard, but she received a deer skull with antlers attached from her Grandma & she brought that to class to share yesterday, so naturally  I took a picture of her. Thanks for stabbing me with it after class, Chels.
6. And how boring would life be without the continuing love saga of Brandi & Ryan. They are awesome. Lets take a trip down memory lane of me sitting by them in class, shall we?
My first encounter with Ryan was a remarkable one. He was drawing little figurines instead of taking notes like the rest of us. He proceeded to ask if he could trace my thumb so he could make a little piglet out of it. I politely declined his most generous offer.
Brandi & Ryan on a happy day. Ryan is listening intently because he realizes this is College, not Preschool, and Brandi is taking some notes.
Uh-oh. It would seem Brandi and Ryan had a fight. Brandi ignores Ryan for the whole 50 minutes & talks to her new BFF to her left. Ryan just looks on, jealously.
Poor Brandi. After being ignored, Ryan seeks vengeance. If you will look at the direction Brandi is looking, you will see Ryan. He is the one in the jacket with the 2 white stripes.
After much turmoil, you can see they are once again as happy as can be. Wearing matching T-shirts they are once again reunited. May they never again seek revenge on one another.

-Any of these characters interest you? Want to meet/see them live in action? Come to the Noyes building M-Thurs @ 2:30.

Thanks, Bud.

If you were to ask me what my favorite classes at college were, I would probably tell you English & Yoga. I love English because I have been lucky enough to pick good topics that I am passionate & enjoy writing about.
This morning I walked through the mostly-warm air & was on time to my class with 3 minutes to spare. We had a debate on controversial topics, & I watched as people practically tore each other apart, in a civil manner though, of course. He let us know that he would be picking our topic for our next argumentative paper. He said these would be chosen at random. Past experience has proven I am not good with "random." He went around the room handing out articles & I didn't think much of it. I looked at the article & I laughed. The Government's involvement in Sexual Education. Oh yes, my favorite. I think, worry, and practically pray over that very subject all the time. Thanks Dr. Bean. You're the best.

1st Day of Spring

As Palmer family tradition constitutes, we must first receive a new outfit for the 1st day of spring & then a "quick" photo shoot outside our house must ensue. If it wasn't for Rachel's newly found fear of bees we probably would have finished quickly.
Now if you will excuse me, I have a date with the undaunted.
I'm nearly through. I would highly recommend it.
Thanks to all my family & friends who have made this Spring Break so fun!!!

Miss PG

So one of my best friends took a leap of faith & plunged herself into running for Miss PG. Kenzie (my Sherman) was awesome!!! I really liked watching the whole thing & commenting on the good & the bad that transpired with Hilary.  I got so nervous just watching & waiting for the results to be read. Kenzie took the results in good stride & was her upbeat, optimistic, jubilant self. You were beautiful Kenz. Love ya girl!!
Good job to Mady too!! Her dancing just left me mesmerized. I wish I was graceful. (too bad i didn't get a picture with her though..)
P.S. Here's my favorite sister ever helping me clean out the FIT. She's the best.

Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.

Tonight my Mom took me out to eat at Olive Garden, & then we went to see Dirty Rotten Scoundrels at the Hale Center Theater in Orem.
I LOVED IT.
While at intermission, we saw a familiar face... Can you guess who he is?
I was so excited to see a local celebrity I proceeded to stalk him & take loads of pictures.
Yeah, just call me a creep.
For those of you who couldn't tell from by obviously awesome photography, that is the Therm Wise Guy.
Ladies, my mom was even so observant to point out that he didn't have a ring on, so perhaps single?! Wouldn't that be so super cool to date him?
p.s. good luck tomorrow Kenzie my Sherman. You are going to do awe-some.
I will be cheering loud for you!!!!

Tripe P

Ever have a break out that just simply won't go away?
Ever feel like you are Joel from the bible,
that's how many of those suckers you have?
Well, this is how my forehead has looked for the past week and a half.
Meet what I have affectionately dubbed the P.P.P.
(Pumpernickel Pimple Patch)
Enough is Enough.
Go away.
Also, I spent a delightful evening with my favorite Katie A.
We spoke of the great times we are going to have once she
LIVES AT SNOW WITH US NEXT YEAR,
among other things.
As I left her home, the wind picked up.
My gum fell out of my mouth & I thought it landed on the ground.
Much to my surprise, this is what I found when I arrived home.
Get the scissors team.
It's time to take a chunk out of the bottom of some of my locks.
Stupid Stride.

St. Patrick's Day.

The Leprechauns put shamrock kisses on our faces while we were still sleeping.
(doesn't this picture just scream that I am happy to be awake & alive?)
They gave us the infamous cookies & wint-o-green lifesavers.
When Rachel got home from school she requested i feed her the remains of her Lucky Charms cereal.
Rachel wrote in her poem today that she is LUCKY that she has a sister.
I love this girl.
HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!

Scooting Down the Can

We rounded up the gang
(which took a long time.. Elder Anderson, where are you? Your friends need you.)
and drove 2 cars up Provo Canyon so we could scooter down the path.
cute Meg driving her beautiful car.
We're just happy to be along for the ride.
 Katie.
 This is nice Darren.
after saying a prayer, our group of 8 hit the paved trail.
Thank goodness for self timer.
This was fun, let's do it again.
tomorrow anyone?

1st official day of Spring Break

How do you spend the first day of Spring Break?
A bike ride of course.
We had a little trouble pumping up a few of the tires,
but once we were out on the road we were loving the
wind in our hair.
My long lost twin Heather from Snowflake, Arizona joined
Kayloni, Kalee, Katie & I for the 3 mile adventure.
Thanks to Zach A. for stopping by & snapping the first picture for us.
Then we hit up juice press.
there was a somewhat awkward encounter there,
we won't talk about that though.
I love watching the news.
I have missed you ABC4.

weekend in pictures.

Playing by the Provo River after seeing Young Victoria.
Kayloni hasn't been here since T.T. left...
and now we transfer to game night at Katie's
Sunday with the Palmers..
And we ended the day with Rachel leading us in a round of the Hokie Pokie.
It ended with Wade whacking Mom in the face & Dad had a coughing fit.
All in all a success.
